The Rumworth Morris was founded in 1976 to dance the North West style of Morris
in its traditional setting and as closely as possible to traditional style.

Our home since 1976, Deane Memorial Hall in Bolton was due for demolition in 2009 so we moved our practice venue to a school in Walkden which unfortunately closed in July 2013. Following this we moved our practices to a church hall in Wigan which we still use, More recently, as we now have more members based in Sheffield we hold our main practices there. We also have a number of members based further afield so we hold occasional, usually full day practices around the country at a variety of venues.

Our regular monthly practices are held at Holy Family Parish Hall in Tram Street, Platt Bridge, Wigan on the second Thursday of each month starting at 8.00pm and at the Burton Street Centre in Sheffield on the fourth Tuesday of each month starting at 5.30pm.

We perform at a small number of events, both local, national and occasionally international, throughout the year.
