Practices:
These are held twice a month, On first Thursday evenings we practise in Wigan and on the third Thursday we meet in Sheffield. Although the team is based in "the North" we have a number of committed members in other parts of the country so
about three times a year, during winter and spring, we hold a weekend practice for the whole team.
The venues for these are spread round the country to make it easier for all members to attend.
Performances:
We arrange the programme for the coming year at the AGM in September to ensure that everyone is available for events. Our principle is "Quality not Quantity" so we aim to dance at the most three or occasionally four main events a year, mostly full weekends such as Folk Festivals, Days of Dance etc.
Commitment:
Members are expected to attend all practices and performances during the year if at all possible.
We may be a "part time" team in the sense that we only meet twice a month and only perform 3 or 4 times a year but our members show a high level of commitment to the team. Being committed in this way can sometimes take a bit of effort but it's worth it for what you get out of it.
Enjoyment:
We do it because we enjoy it. We get great satisfaction from dancing and performing to the high standards which we set ourselves.
