Join the Team

If you are interested in becoming part of a team that enthusiastically takes care and pride in this living tradition, we would love to hear from you, whether you are interested in dancing or joining the band of musicians to accompany the dances.

What's involved?

These are held twice a month on the first and third Thursday evenings. Although the team is based in Lancashire we have a number of committed members in other parts of the country so about three times a year, during winter and spring, we hold a weekend practice for the whole team. The venues for these are spread round the country to make it easier for all members to attend.

We arrange the programme for the coming year at the AGM in September to ensure that everyone is available for events. Our principle is "Quality not Quantity" so we aim to dance at the most three or occasionally four main events a year, mostly full weekends such as Folk Festivals, Days of Dance etc.

Members are expected to attend all practices and performances during the year if at all possible.
We may be a "part time" team in the sense that we only meet once a month and only perform 3 or 4 times a year but our members show a high level of commitment to the team. Being committed in this way can sometimes take a bit of effort but it's worth it for what you get out of it.

We do it because we enjoy it. We get great satisfaction from dancing and performing to the high standards which we set ourselves.

The team is constantly on the look out for like minded individuals who want to share their passion for the excellent performance of Lancashire Morris.  If you would like to become a member of the team then get in touch by e-mail or phone - see the Contact Us page for details.
